Y’know, I feel kind of awkward how unrealistic-expectations-of-woman’s-beauty gets tens of thousands of outraged notes on tumblr, but unrealistic-expectations-of-men’s-beauty is a subject of derision. I guess we should just suck it up and get six packs.

I feel kind of awkward how guys don’t get that when girls fight sexism and encourage feminism, guys benefit too

protip: if gender stops being a rigidly defined Manly Man, Effeminate Woman thing with all associated baggage it helps women who get the worst of it

but the (comparatively less common) unrealistic expectations for men to be buff testosterone freaks will also go away

people aren’t ignoring the fact that men can be made insecure by the media and men can have body issues, it’s just a secondary problem to the much more prevalent and likely to be dangerous issues that women face in the same area, and how nobody sees a goddamn problem with it except us. 

(and that’s not even addressing the fact that the buff male in videogames/comics/movies/etc is a MALE POWER FANTASY, which is entirely different to the vapid sexualised objectified love interest female character archetype which is, guess what, also a male power fantasy, so this really isn’t even a thing that should be treated anything like the same as unrealistic expectations of female beauty in the first place because it’s all about MALE POWER FANTASY. it’s still fucking misogyny, still all about ‘female= bad’, male=good, just in a ‘more male=better’ form!)

i’m just glad the original blog is a parody one, but the fact that someone took it seriously kills me inside.
