Okay, no, nope, nuh-uh. I will not accept this, The Soul Piece is my happy place in fanfiction. When canon is being a bitch, I remind myself that Cas holds part of Dean’s soul and Dean needs him to feel complete.

How about Metatron disregarded the Soul Piece because he’s been gone for a long time and doesn’t think angels and Soul Pieces are compatible, so he just leaves it behind thinking it’s part of Jimmy’s soul?

Or Castiel has developed a personality so separate from the coldness of his grace that the soul piece clings to the more emotional, familiar parts of Cas and stays with him because of this?

I will not accept Cas being lost and alone without Dean’s soul piece and Dean not feeling that mysterious pull towards Cas or needing Cas to be content and calm. I. Will. Not. Accept. It.

Metatron confirmed that Cas has a soul now! So, wouldn’t Dean’s soul piece stay with Cas’ soul? Oh man, does that mean he now has a true soul piece of his own to give to Dean, too?

I do think it’d be pretty funny though if the tables turned and now every time Dean walks into a room he’s like “Hello, Cas” and Cas nearly jumps out of his shoes and is like “DON’T DO THAT!” and Dean just gets the biggest kick ever out of sneaking up on Cas.
